Las Vegas - on to part 2

Las Vegas, NV... I don't have the same view of Vegas as I used to, and it's because we have family in Vegas.   I am very thankful for our family in Vegas.  They gave us a place to stay for free and something other than gambling to do. So to our Vegas family Thank You! We will miss you.  Hug and kiss our nieces and nephews again for us!

We didn't do a lot of Vegasy (yes I said Vegasy) stuff.  Spent 90% of our time with family,  which was the reason we came to Vegas.   Baby Floyd has now met all of his 1st cousins and loved every minute with them.   He was all smiles this week watching his cousins run around and his uncles being goofy and talking with TT and Nana.   Floyd (big) was able to spend a lot of quality time with his family,  which was much needed.

Now Floyd and I did get to be a little touristy when we went gambling one night with Mom (Rosalind). We found ourselves at the Stratosphere, thanks to my wonderful husband remembering how much I've always wanted to go to the top.  Floyd and I went to the top and saw all of Vegas, which is just beautiful.  I recommend it to everybody,  unless you have a fear of heights and then it's just not a good idea, it's really high.

The Floyds and I had so much fun. Hopefully the next time we come we will take Lil man to see the kid approved sites.
We are heading North now for more family time in Stockton,  CA before this journey goes from feeling like a wonderful vacation to an exciting new adventure.  Here are a few pictures from this last week:

The First Leg

The First Leg

All right,  you will have to bare with me for the first few posts because I'm new to this whole blogging thing.   I'm copying Amanda (sis in law) and Erinn ( best friend from high school) to keep family and friends in the lower 48 posted on our journey and our Lil man.

As many of you know,  (big) Floyd is in the army and the army is sending us North to Alaska.   Yeah we might have made the decision but we tried to get out of it after he's been on these orders for 18 months but it just didn't work out .  So here we go....

This first leg will take us to Las Vegas, NV so we can see family!   It's been a year an a half since I got to see our west coast family and I'm excited to see them and have FP3 meet his Nana,  aunties, uncles,  and cousins.

The trip from Gypsum, KS to Las Vegas,  NV (according to google) is 17hours and we drove straight through.  We left at 7:45cst and arrived at our destination at 12:30pst.  As you can tell it took a lot longer than planned.   We stopped more often and longer so Lil man would go crazy.

It was a long trip but the weather was great the whole trip.   Now we are going to spend a lot of time with family.  We are going to try to take advantage of the last few days of babysitters and do a little vacation stuff with just the two of us.

Hope my first blog entry wasn't too bad, it was done on my phone so I'll try to do a little better with the next one.
